Pack: [[Exculpation]]
Item: Pendant of black stone
## Character Notes
So many of your packmates think of violence as a game, a sort of high-stakes tag. No so for you. For you, the shedding of blood is a holy thing. You don't kill and devour in service to some unquenchable thirst. You do it because that is what vampires are for, and you strive to occupy your proper role in the universe. You haunt the dark places and snatch the unwary not out of malice, but because it is your duty.
[[E Spencer (Ductus)]] seems to understand that duty. Though they are driven by an impossibly vast hunger which seems fit to swallow the whole world, they leash that hunger and turn it to good use. The rest of the pack may struggle to follow in those footsteps, but even the least of them recognizes the beauty of an opened vein, and that's a start.
## Character Secrets
You are a heretic.
You have nothing against the Inquisition. In fact, you've long been fond of Inquisitors who rose to power through wholesale slaughter, and there are plenty of those. Unfortunately, your Ductus and the rest of your pack were in agreement that the Inquisitors of [[Reasonable Doubt]] were to become your next victims. A shame, but no more than that. You followed your purpose, killing dozens of mortal servants in order to draw them out, but it was to no avail.
Finally, word came that the Inquisitors were headed to the ghost town of Megged's Hill. You joined your packmates in ambushing the exhausted Inquisitors after their fight with the local cult, and were nearly killed in the battle. Before it ended, you'd taken two heads and lost most of your own torso. For weeks, you lay in a hidden mineshaft, recovering from the fight. When you were finally up and moving again, it was to the news that seven different packs were all converging upon your location. Apparently among them, the Inquisitors of Reasonable Doubt whose murders you had only just recovered from committing.
The strangest one is [[L Sandoval]], whom you killed personally. You even used an artifact crafted for you by a Necromancer to bind their soul until you're ready to devour it. Now, apparently Sandoval has been asking about you specifically. The soul isn't like a wraith, you can't interact or communicate with it, but you're *absolutely* certain you still have it. Is that why the Inquisitor is looking for you?
## Character Goals
It is essential that you discover how the Inquisitors survived the ambush. If they have some means of returning from death, than the holy sacrament to which you've devoted your life is lessened irreparably. [[H Fitzgerald]] of [[Voir Dire]] may be able to help. That pack is strange, but Fitzgerald has often had need of your services in the past, and it's likely they'll be able to help you discover what's going on with these Inquisitors. As well, if the Inquisitors are aware of who it was that tried to kill them, it may be time to consider finding a new pack. Perhaps Fitzgerald can help with that, as well.
