## Profile
Debt is the source of all value. That's both literally true - modern currency is based on loans and obligations - but it is also spiritually true. It is impossible for any kind of market: economic, political, social, or mystical, to survive without a healthy respect for favors and liabilities. And yet, somehow, debt collectors continue to get a bad rap, saddled with unfairly accurate accusations of greed, parasitism, and evil. In fact, as a debt collector, you might be the only person actually trying to make the world a better place. Wherever you go, you leave the world a little more balanced, a little more fair. In your presence, capital of every kind flows easily, and you are *always* paid what you are owed. Because you inarguably make the world better, there are some who think you kind, or helpful, or even (to your chagrin) *charitable,* but they fail to understand the fundamental truth of the universe. Everything comes with a price, even simple kindness, and you have spent years positioning yourself and your family firmly in the green.
## Ambition
You understand that your family has a great purpose here, and you are all too eager to fight for that purpose, especially while in a room that has more collective power than you've ever seen in your life. That said, you have a personal reason to be here too. [[J Pierre]] of Vespera owes you a great debt - you saved their life five years ago. Given the importance of what is going to happen tonight, it is time to cash in. You cannot abide leaving a favor unpaid.
## Claim
Being thanked is the most basic, fundamental acknowledgement of debt there is. Each thanks represents an exchange of value, a sign of legitimacy, confirmation that a need has been fulfilled. **Anytime a player thanks you for something, you may claim a Karma from them.**
## Wyrd
Untracked favors are the death knell of a friendship - uncertain debts are the ruin of a company. You have no problem owing or being owed favors by those around you - so long as those favors are acknowledged and defined. **You must award a Karma to any player who does a favor for you without expectation of repayment or reciprocation.**
