## Metadata Name: D Holding: [[Chaendaer]] Office: [[Admiral]] ## Background You were born to be a commander. You hail from the semi-mythical world of Chaendaer, a world where genetically engineered superstructures maintain the environment to perfectly support human life. Everything is made to help the living not only live, but thrive. You would think the rest of the galaxy would welcome these advancements with open arms, but through experience you have found that they only respond with scorn until they are crushed underfoot and forced to learn better. Of course you are only too happy to oblige them. In fact it would be so much easier if these politicians and bureaucrats would get out of your way, as it always comes down to the same thing. In the end there will always be a war, and they will call upon you to mete out destruction as you always do. You hear the unconquered. Their collective voice(s) have been calling out to you from across the star systems. They are begging for death, begging to be sent to the endless void that calls them. You hear it calling them. WHY IS IT ALWAYS CALLING. You send so many to their end, but it keeps calling them. The death of the Plaguesmith is a blessing. The plagues that he unleashed devoured entire worlds, slaying your foes without contest or resistance. There is no blood spilled or glory won, there is no conquest for Chaendaer, and there is no sacrifice made. The end result of the Plaguesmith's victories were fallow husks, useless to Chaendaer's expanding reach...and useless to yours. For you have come to know the void's true name and that name is the Leviathan's Corpse; a great beast which swims between the stars and rewards those who bring it offerings. You have offered it so many lives, and you are certain that it is coming closer. Just a few more sacrifices - perhaps sacrifices of great worth. Perhaps sacrifices of the Council that gathers here. Surely that will be enough. Surely then you will be rewarded, and at last the void will fall into a blissful silence. ## Mechanics ### **Asset: [[Total Encirclement]]** You are an Admiral, commander of drone, soldier, and fleet alike. You are able to participate in any [[Combat|Combat]] and may allow any number of other characters to participate in that conflict on your side. If your opponent is not able to engage you in the declared combat scenario, you get to dictate the outcome subject to your advantage total and any adjudication by the Facilitator(s). (e.g., if an enemy is unable to engage in Fleet Combat, you may automatically inflict the [[Blockade]] Lien, assuming you have at least 3 advantages) ### **Lien: [[Academy Pals|Academy Pals]]** You don't become an Admiral without taking at least a temporary detour through politics. Luckily, like most officers who make it to such heights, you graduated from a Fleet Academy with a ready-made network of friends and favors. Unluckily, being a member of that network obliges you in turn. Any time a character with a military title ([[Auxiliary]], [[Harbinger]], [[Operator]], [[Knight]], or [[Admiral]]) asks you for help, whether it's information or actual assistance, you must provide that help unless that character reports to you or you are actively at war with them. If you fail to provide this assistance, you are unable to contribute advantages to the next [[Combat|Combat]] in which you are a participant. (You may still use your [[Total Encirclement]] Asset to allow characters to participate) ## Themes These themes are offered to help inform roleplay, but do not carry a mechanical effect. - Above Good and Evil - The Combat Pragmatist - Fighting for the Homeland
