Goals: 1. Find funding for your next project, pushing the limits of even Myriadic science. 2. Get into an argument about the nature of the [[Celestial Empire]]. 3. Find a way to use the temple's power without it interfering in your plans. You are Artisan Vyadh, the "Shaper of Darkness." You have for centuries now made a name for yourself as one of the strangest, most compelling, and most controversial artists alive. Using some of the galaxy's most advanced (and expensive) technology, you've crafted mandala art around the event horizons of black holes, created time skids which caused those trapped inside to experience the same second for millions of years, you even once cracked open a [[Light Vaults|Light Vault]] to use its shell in an especially *avant garde* piece. You recognize that your work tends to involve mass casualties, but everyone knows that art requires sacrifice. There is more to you, though, than a self-obsessed disaster artist. You've cultivated a reputation as a heartless, thoughtless artist who cares only for their next project, but that's a front. The truth is that your "art" is always carefully tailored to serve a single goal: the survival of Ebonwatch and the destabilization of the [[Celestial Empire]]. Your "thoughtless" actions have destroyed power centers for the [[Imperial Bureaucracy]], dragged the [[Voidstalker Corps]] into quagmire after quagmire, and generally cost the Empire incalculable resources. This is not an accident. You are sabotaging the Celestial Empire from the inside, because you know the truth. Every Light Vault exists because someone tried to fight the galactic powers that be, and they failed. For Ebonwatch to live, this has to stop. You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because you need funding for your next big project; a planet made of pure antimatter, terraformed and carefully managed to produce "anti-life." Life forms made from antimatter. Unmentioned in your proposal is the plan to then crash your new superweapon into the biggest Voidstalker capital ship you can find. You don't really care about the temple or its contents, except to the extent that they might somehow aid your goals. ## Asset: [[Love's Labours Lost]] As an Artisan, you understand that not every creative or technological work can be created with the explicit permission of the powers that be. That's not to say you don't value a [[Governor|Governor's]] input, but you don't feel the need to rely on administrators to guide your work. You're the expert, after all, that's why you're here. You can lead an [[Endeavor]] without a Governor's direct involvement. ## Lien: [[Glamour-Drowned]] You cannot help but see the scintillating wonder in every raindrop, the infinite possibility of every acorn dreaming itself an oak. A sunrise on the ocean is enough to leave you senseless with awe for hours at a time, heedless of an approaching shark. You're willing to sacrifice nearly anything for your art, and hate being forced to compromise for little things like "survival." If you're ever forced to abandon a project, you become despondent and miserable.
