Goals:
1. Find new resources for your Holding's endless war against extinction.
2. Learn how other Holdings fight their wars, and for what reasons.
3. Convince the military officers of the other Holdings that the temple should be treated as a threat.
You are Operator Mato, the "Last Line of Defense." For more than ten thousand years, you've been [[Ebonwatch|Ebonwatch's]] last, best hope against apocalypse. Every time a [[Light Vaults|Light Vault]] opens and a monster comes crawling out, you're the line behind the line, ensuring a lost battle never turns into a lost war. Your warship, the stellar-class vessel *Impertinence*, is famous among military scholars as one of the finest monster-killing tools ever crafted by human hands. Though far smaller than the average stellar-class ship, *Impertinence* has been tested against tyrants from the dawn of time, moon-sized lizards, and things stranger still. It has never been found wanting, nor have you.
There is more to you, though, than a skilled pilot and a famous weapon. You are, in many ways, the single most clear-sighted and practical person in your entire Holding. You've spent your career studying logistics, learning to predict the future based on troop movements and to shape it via caloric distribution. This has given you a certain sensitivity to the currents of war, a knack for knowing what's coming. That's how you can say confidently that, unless it finds a new solution, Ebonwatch is doomed. Each new Vault that opens is another chance for something to come out that can beat you in a fight. When that finally happens, your people will die.
You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because you heard that there's a temple here with some kind of ancient power inside. You don't know the details, but you do know some asshole is going to try and use the thing as a weapon. As much as you love the idea of some hero from the dawn of time arriving to save you and your people from extinction, you have too much experience seeing ancient creatures emerge from slumber to believe it's going to go well this time. You want to convince the various militaries represented not to use it. Whatever it is.
## Asset: [[Swarm Happy]]
You aren't pounding ground with the landing forces, or sweating in a cockpit with the void jockeys. You pilot capital ships or drone fleets, nothing in between. You can participate in any [[Combat]] scenario, and add three advantages to your side's total, so long as you fulfill the terms of your Lien.
## Lien: [[Projects/Myriad/Liens/Cost of Doing Business|Cost of Doing Business]]
Drone swarms and ships bigger than moons don't power themselves, and ammunition doesn't come cheap. In order for you to participate in any [[Combat Scenario]], someone on your side must expend a Fuel to power your weapons. If no one is willing or able to spend a Fuel, your Asset has no effect on that scenario, though you still count as a participant for the purposes of other effects.
