Goals: 1. Insert yourself into any situation where a member of [[Guthrie Hall]] might be in danger. 2. Form a union with other militants who are tired of their lives being wasted. 3. Find a way to keep whatever's inside the temple from being deployed against soldiers. You are Auxiliary Coe, the "Dogged Protector." Though relatively young by the standards of your Holding (around 4000 galactic years), you've seen a great deal of action on the front lines. Whenever some despot gets tired of the endless stream of rebel anthems and protest art, you're the reason their assassins never find the mark. It's a pretty stressful job, and one that has made you a bit paranoid and over-protective, but if you weren't doing it, someone else would have to, and *that*, you won't abide. There's more to you, though, than the defender of the dramatists. A few thousand years might not be much to some, but it's been more than enough for you to spend some time thinking. Throughout the galaxy, there are plenty of people screaming into the void about the horrors perpetrated against civilians. They aren't wrong, of course, but you can't help notice how few ever seem to care about those exact same horrors being committed against *soldiers*. Sure, you signed up to kill and die, which elides some available sympathy, but that's hardly a reason for you to get devoured by a giant serpent made of lightning, is it? As much as you love defending the people of your Holding, you know in your heart that militants like yourself need to develop class consciousness if they ever want to be more than cannon fodder. You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because this is where all the other officers of your Holding are going to be, and your job is to keep them all alive. At the same time, it's a great chance to meet and organize with other militants from Holdings all over the galaxy. If you can keep whatever's in the temple from being wantonly deployed against your fellow soldiers, all the better. ## Asset: [[Close Quarters Chaos]] You treat your body not as a temple, but as a tool for causing as much harm as possible. In Local, Regional, or Planetary [[Combat]] scenarios, you add one to your side's advantage total. You do not need the assistance of any other character to participate in non-Fleet Combat Scenarios. You are not considered vulnerable for purposes of the Asset [[Cohen's Legacy]]. ## Lien: [[Sworn Sword]] You have promised your service to your Governor, and to fail in that pursuit is to be remembered as a failure for the rest of time. Any time your Governor is in danger or subject to public attack, you feel compelled to spring to their aid. You don't necessarily have to attack anyone, or even speak up, but if you can't find some way to show your support, you become irritable and despondent for a time, believing yourself to be a failure.
