Goals: 1. Pass a motion through the Myriadic Council to send search and rescue after Kari. 2. Find thinkers and creators who would benefit the Dream and convince them to join your Holding. 3. Convince the other Holdings to put Karizmi in control of the temple. You are Governor Jabr, the "Dream Guide." You're somewhere near a million galactic years old, though you often struggle to remember, given both the absurdity of that span and the equally absurd number of lives you've experienced in the Dream. More than anyone except Kari, you have spent your life learning the secrets of that fantastical world and bending it to your desires. Reality, by contrast, often feels drab and lifeless. You tolerate that lifelessness, however, because it is your duty to spread the Dream to those most apt to make it greater. Every second spent in the pale light of this universe is a necessary sacrifice to bring benefit to countless others. There is more to you, though, than a lotus-eating Dreamer. You fell in love with the Dream the first time you entered, because you realized instantly that it was a place away from the endless horrors of the galaxy. Unlike so many others, your time in the Dream is only rarely spent crafting and ruling worlds of magic and grandeur. Far more often -in fact, nearly all the time- you simply sit in the endless void and softly hum. You're careful about which worlds and individuals you bring into the Dream not because you're looking for the "best minds," whatever that means, but because you're looking for people who will fill your Dreams with beauty and peace, leaving the cares of the galaxy outside. You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because [[Kari Who Spun the Dream]] was investigating it when they disappeared. Their notes suggest that the temple contains some kind of super-advanced technology, which is a designation you struggle to imagine coming from the person who crafted an infinite series of miniature universes. Whatever the hell is inside that thing, you know it belongs in Karizmian hands. ## Asset: [[Powers that Be]] As a Governor, your power over your Holding is very nearly absolute. Whatever you choose to do, and however you choose to do it, so long as you commit neither Treason nor Heresy, it is within your rights. You have the ability to appoint [[Officers]], give those Officers orders, and make any decision regarding the management or administration of your Holding. You act as the final authority on what is and is not allowed or required, with no appeal and no oversight. ## Lien: [[Heavy the Head]] There is no moral way to have the power of life and death over billions of people. As such, there is no such thing as a good person who is also the Governor of a significant Holding. Whenever you are given the choice to further your personal goals, you must attempt to do so even at the expense of those around you.
