Goals: 1. Find a way to make someone's desires come true while leaving them worse off than before. 2. Set up a trading agreement for someone to sell Maw Station's loot for a cut. 3. Find a way to profit from the opening of the temple. You are Merchant Bromios, the "Monkey's Paw." On a place like [[Maw Station]], where functionally all wealth is generated through conquest and loot, there has to be at least one person responsible for converting all of that loot into food, potable water, and fuel. That isn't to say you're boring or anything. You have just as much fun spreading chaos and darkness as the next Leviathan Cultist, it's just that you don't do it sword in hand. You know there's nothing more powerful than market forces when it comes to inducing irrational behavior, and it's given you a certain... bursarial take on spreading holy chaos. There is more to you, though, than a human doing their best impression of an evil djinn. You spread chaos not by inflicting evil on your targets or twisting their intent, but by giving them the tools and resources they need to destroy themselves. When someone comes to you asking for infinite money, you don't bury them in a mountain of gold. You give them access to functionally unlimited credit and let them crash their home economy. If they ask for immortality, you give them tools from a society laughably more advanced than their own and wait for the inevitable blood cults to spring up all on their own. No tricks needed, just patience and an above-average grasp of human nature. You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because you're a bit, well, illiquid at the moment. Maw Station is at the low-resource point in its endless cycle of raiding and reveling, which means you could really use a boost. Fortunately, when viewed from a certain, statistical perspective, Maw Station is actually a remarkably predictable investment vehicle, steadily returning a healthy interest century over century. You're here to make deals, plain and simple. The uglier the deal, the better. ## Asset: [[Went to Market]] You begin play with a number of resources. These resources are represented by cards marked "Raw Resource", "Refined Resource", or "Fuel". These resources may be expended to fulfill other characters' Liens, spent in service of [[Endeavor|Endeavors]], or traded in [[Negotiation|Negotiations]]. You can't lead Endeavors or Negotiations without a Governor's express, case-by-case permission, but you can participate in them and lend your resources as you see fit. ## Lien: [[Blood Money]] The galaxy is not an innocent place, and commerce cannot be innocently conducted within it. The kind of resources necessary to be a player on the galactic stage simply cannot be sourced from a single planet, or even a few hundred planets, without brutality and oppression baked in somewhere. In order for you to lead a [[Negotiation]], in addition to permission from your Governor, you must be accompanied by at least one Martial officer (from any Holding).
