Goals: 1. Participate in a [[Combat]], preferably for petty reasons. 2. Try to get your hands on a superweapon. 3. Start a fight with whatever monster is inside the temple. You are Auxiliary Mabuk, the "Button-Pusher." Some might find that nickname demeaning, but you appreciate the accuracy. You're not some kind of grunt, slashing and dashing on the battlefield. No, you represent the sole military authority on one of the galaxy's richest Holdings. When you want something dead, you point a few million spin cannons at it from the comfort of your air conditioned office, and it dies. This has, you'll admit, given you something of a casual approach toward wiping out potential threats, but let they who have never killed over a parking spot cast the first particle beam. There is more to you, though, than an office jockey with a 9 a.m. appointment for mundicide. If you're honest, you'd quite like to be a grunt, slashing and dashing. It's why you signed up for the military in the first place, only to find out that "the military" consisted of a single person and a comically overpowered defensive array. You've had plenty of combat experience, in the sense that you've killed a lot of people who wanted to kill you, but not once has your life been in danger, or your mettle been tested. You want to fix that, to see what it's like to wield a grand weapon with your own hand. You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] in hopes that you might get that chance. Sure, you'll take part in whatever nonsense fights happen if you think there's a good (or funny) reason, but mostly you're here because you heard a rumor from somewhere that this temple has a monster inside that is millions upon millions of years old. It's supposedly so powerful the Empress Herself fears it and trapped it inside. You don't believe that last bit, but it's a good story. Even so, the idea of finding a superweapon and testing yourself against something like that? How could you possibly resist the temptation? ## Asset: [[Close Quarters Chaos]] You treat your body not as a temple, but as a tool for causing as much harm as possible. In Local, Regional, or Planetary [[Combat]] scenarios, you add one to your side's advantage total. You do not need the assistance of any other character to participate in non-Fleet Combat Scenarios. You are not considered vulnerable for purposes of the Asset [[Cohen's Legacy]]. ## Lien: [[Sworn Sword]] You have promised your service to your Governor, and to fail in that pursuit is to be remembered as a failure for the rest of time. Any time your Governor is in danger or subject to public attack, you feel compelled to spring to their aid. You don't necessarily have to attack anyone, or even speak up, but if you can't find some way to show your support, you become irritable and despondent for a time, believing yourself to be a failure.
