Goals:
1. Convince the other members of the Myriadic Council to support your Governor's proposals.
2. Form advantageous relationships with Holdings in need of resources and people who have them.
3. Try to convince the Governors to put you in charge of opening the temple and distributing its contents.
You are Diplomat Merion, the "Market Maker." Though you hail from the impossibly wealthy Holding of [[Metropole]], you are not yourself directly involved in finance. Instead, you are the person responsible for greasing the wheels, easing tensions, and keeping markets healthy. You've spend your quarter million years of life traveling all over the galaxy, untangling knots in the flow of commerce. The small fleet of pleasure craft and data processing centers which travels the galaxy in your wake carries with it more wealth than many Holdings, and it's nothing more than the natural detritus of your passing.
There is more to you, though, than a living, breathing balance sheet. The reason so many people follow you like fish after a shark is that you have a remarkable knack for finding people whose only need is funding, and putting them in touch with people who have too much money. You rarely invest your own money directly, but you rarely need to. The kind of people you help out are universally the kind of people who understand the value of paying back debts regardless of their original form. Though you do primarily work on behalf of your Holding, you have no problem supporting any deal, even if it's just as a neutral third party and go-between.
You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because you heard word from one of your friends that this temple contains a horde of treasures from Earth, humanity's legendary homeworld. Though artifacts purporting to be from that fabled paradise world are common, authentic relics are practically unheard of. The last time someone found an Earth artifact, the ensuing war destroyed hundreds of Holdings. Whatever's in this temple, it needs someone like you, someone sound, to distribute it fairly. Of course, it's only fair to take a few pieces as compensation.
## Asset: [[Plenipotentiary]]
You often find yourself performing complex negotiations light years away from your Governor. As a result, you get a significantly greater degree of latitude than most Officers. You may enter a [[Negotiation]] without notifying your Governor or receiving their approval, though they will still be notified of any results. Your Governor can revoke this power by publicly stripping you of plenipotentiary status.
## Lien: [[Living on Room Service]]
You've spent your life working on behalf of people you never see, people you're unlikely to ever meet in person. This separation has left its mark. You struggle to engage with those from your home [[Projects/Myriad/Holdings|Holding]]. If you go more than five minutes without interacting with someone outside your Holding, you become irritable and frustrated. After ten, you will make any excuse to get away, even if you know it will make your life harder in the long run.
