Goals:
1. Learn about the artisans of all the other Holdings represented.
2. Find and support artistic [[Endeavor|Endeavors]] which you think will spark conversations.
3. Convince the artisans that the group of you should be the first people to see what's in the temple.
You are Patron Isin, the "Money Behind the Moment." For more millennia than you care to remember, you've spent your life finding and supporting artistic movements which you believed would bring change to the galaxy. That change might be grand or petty, sweeping or subtle, but change has been your constant companion. You've done so by learning about different worlds and cultures, how they thought, how they approached life, and giving them support to bring their ideas to the galaxy at large. True, you've seen plenty of struggle and failure, but that has just given you a deeper appreciation for those moments when you can look at the galaxy and know it was changed by your success.
There is more to you, though, than the galaxy's most prolific supporter of art no one else has heard of. The change you seek isn't just about making a moment or leaving your mark. You know as well as any grease-painted guerrilla that the [[Celestial Empire]] is an evil thing which must be fought, but you know much *better* than they do how important ideas are in that fight. You bring about change not only to make life better in the here and now, but to teach those around you that change itself is possible. In some ways, you could say your whole career has been a piece of performance meant to teach that lesson.
You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because there are nine new Holdings to meet, with nine new art movements to discovery. You're also here because you heard a rumor that the temple contains some kind of artistic treasure from the days when humanity still lived on a single planet. If the militants or Governors are the first ones in, you just know it'll get used for war. You should send poets.
## Asset: [[Supporting the Arts]]
Yours is a strange job. You're not an artist, certainly not any kind of salesperson or, perish the thought, an economist. No, you give artists, inventors, philosophers, and all those other bright sparks who light the galaxy the support they need to keep shining bright. If you support an [[Endeavor]] led by a Governor, you add one advantage to the total. If you support an Endeavor led by an Artisan, you instead add three.
## Lien: [[Qui Bono]]
When you pay an artist, how do you measure the return on investment? Feelings-per-credit? The delta in inspiration frequency? There's no easy way of saying who, besides the no-longer-starving artist, benefits from your work. You have the ability to make things possible, but no real knowledge or ability to guide events toward a particular goal. When you participate in an [[Endeavor]], you are not able to participate in the planning stage.
