Goals: 1. Learn what the various Holdings are here to achieve and see how many of their goals you can weave together. 2. Help your Governor gain support on the Myriadic Council. 3. Try to advocate on behalf of whoever created the temple's contents and what they might have wanted. You are Ambassador Ono, the "Listener to the Incomprehensible." Some think your nickname is a joke, like those possessed by so many from [[Sandcastle]]. It isn't, though, it's just as resistant to simple analysis as the rest of your work. Like most Castellans, you were born to a legacy of art and creation hundreds of millennia old. Like many of those born in the last few millennia, you rejected the simplicity of a life making whatever art you wanted in an Edenic paradise. Instead, you wander the galaxy, listening to, and speaking for, the cacophony of those who would otherwise be unheard. Trillions of voices ring out every moment, but only the powerful are ever heard. You work on your Holding's behalf, but you always look for ways to represent the broader perspective as well. There is more to you, though, than a bleeding heart with an artistic background. You love the complexity of your work, the challenge and the stakes. Whether it's parsing the complaints of a screaming mob into a legible bill of rights, or arranging events so that everyone's goals are achieved apparently by magic, there's a deep joy you find in making the universe operate *just so*. You've come to the [[Council of Chains]] because [[Sha the Disciple]], the [[Wend]] whose teachings guide your people, passed word that the temple contains some kind of artwork which supersedes anything the [[Celestial Empire]] has ever produced. You don't think art can be measured like that, certainly not without public discussion, but that's a detail. More importantly, whoever made this thing probably put it in the temple for a reason, and you think their perspective deserves to be heard. Sure, you're working with very little evidence, but of all Sha's teachings, your favorite is this: All Voices Must be Heard. ## Asset: [[Kissing Rings]] Sure, some would call what you do "kissing up," but who ever wanted to kiss down? Whenever you're talking to a Governor, so long they have time and you ask politely, they must answer a question about their goals for their Holding with at least basic truth (e.g., improve our defenses, end an Alliance, I want to build vast and trunkless legs of stone). This only applies once per hour per Governor. ## Lien: [[Homesick]] You spend your life advocating for a home you almost never get to see. Any time someone talks about your home Holding, you find yourself enraptured in blissful memories. If another character is talking about your Holding, you want to stop everything else you're doing to listen. If you choose (or are forced) to miss an opportunity to hear about your home Holding, you become morose, full of sadness and wistful remembrance.
