#### History You arrived on this planet with your sibling, [[O. Nausse (Yuppie)]], and the intern, [[W. Nysse (Yuppie)]], three weeks ago. You crash landed in the wooded hills of a cold and forbidding town, the safety mechanism of your spaceship deploying its mimicry to look like the other homesteads in the immediate vicinity. Unfortunately, the ignition is on the fritz and the value parameters weren't exactly programmed right, so you somehow managed to make the locals think you were wealthier and more interesting than you meant to and they keep inviting you to community events despite the fact that you're less than thrilled to be there. Everything here is decorated in reds and greens, colors that you have heard to human eyes can often look the same. Interesting. In between repairs to your ship, you've started participating and taking notes on local traditions. The polar plunge was last week, with [[H. Fezziwig (Mayor)]] themself running into an icy river while wearing a red suit trimmed in white, and the piemaker's shop has been open at all hours of the day and night, smelling incredible for alien foods. It looks like repairs will be completed by midnight on Christmas Eve, so you may as well stick around for the festivities. The local population worships a man named Sandy Claws, who leaves presents for the good and hits the bad with sticks and rocks, something that you don't want to miss the chance to document before you go back to your home planet. #### Questions What is important to humanity and are those things also important to you? Which traditions (if any) could you see yourself carrying on even after you leave this planet? What is magic? #### Opportunities Participate in local traditions. Don't get found out by anyone asking too many questions. Get invited back next year, but don't promise that you'll be there.
