#### History
You were one of the greats, once. Many years ago, you went off to the big city yourself, not unlike the young [[L. Fritz (Ingenue)]] decided to do a year or so ago. You studied the great art of business marketing and full-scale toy production under fancy accountants and on large scale machines.
They have their own kind of magic, but it wasn't the kind of magic that makes your heart sing. You look back on that time through the gentle, fond fog of nostalgia, but you wouldn't do it again. You returned to your provincial town and opened up a corner shop on main, selling toys you carve, assemble, and paint by hand. Sure, it's not glamourous - you smell like pine oil most days, and you come home with wood shavings in your pockets from time to time, but it's home. You like how interlocked your community has become; [[O. Dunder (Town Hottie)]] and [[R. Blitzen (Town Hottie)]] stop by occasionally for conversation. You have lunch with [[D. Fritz-Williams (The Stuff Aunt)]] every now and then, and sometimes [[N. Williams (Cousin)]] even joins. You wave to [[P. S. Latte (Piemaker)]] every morning when the two of you pass on main street to open up shop for the day, but somehow you've never had time to stop and chat with them about their profession. You've even thought about taking on an apprentice; teaching someone the ropes has its appeal.
Yet, it's not an easy life at all. You have spent the last few months struggling to make ends meet. Whether it's because of the rising cost of rent for those big corner windows on main street, or the fact that no one from the community has been around to buy toys this fall, you're not sure. But you know that unless something changes, you'll go bankrupt and have to sell your family home. You heard that there will be not one but two wealthy CEOs at [[H. Fezziwig (Mayor)]]'s Christmas party this year - maybe you can get one of them to subsidize without entirely selling out? Failing that, there's always community support.
