#### History You arrived on this planet with your sibling, [[D. Nisse (Yuppie)]], and the intern, [[W. Nysse (Yuppie)]], three weeks ago. You told them that your wrecked spaceship is undergoing repairs, but the truth is that you finished the repairs a week ago, and you're dead curious about what the locals have been up to. In the last three weeks, you have tasted more pies than you ever thought you'd even see, jumped in ice cold water alongside [[H. Fezziwig (Mayor)]] while wearing green stripes and a hat with a bell, and you're pretty sure that one of the townies is ready to meet you under the Mistletoe (whatever that means). You've taken so many notes that you ran out of memory on your second generation, piece of shit data pad, and had to switch to something called pen-and-paper, which has been great for your aesthetic. It wasn't the planet you were supposed to complete your sabbatical research on, but honestly, you think this one might win you the scientific excellence award from the discovery council at home station. After all, Sandy Claws is a whole new deity and the rituals surrounding the mysterious old elf are rich and colorful. Literally. So, you lied to D. Nisse and W. Nysse and told them that you all have to keep a low profile and participate in as many strange things as possible - learn the rituals and relationships that drive these humans to be together, despite dropping temperatures and long periods of darkness. Oh, and don't get caught. You know that someone here is looking for strange happenings, and you're pretty sure that houses don't appear out of nowhere on this planet. #### Questions Which traditions (if any) could you see yourself carrying on even after you leave this planet? What is important to humanity and are those things also important to you? Why do we tell white lies and when do they become harmful? #### Opportunities Convince a Hottie to explain the Mistletoe thing to you. Participate in as many traditions as possible - enthusiastically but poorly. Get invited back next year and promise that you'll be there.
